If you don't want to have to hit a button every twenty seconds while you're trying to find something it's a good choice. There is an option to turn Hunter Vision on infinite. It will save you a lot of time, and makes it possible to collect resources while fighting.
This is so that every time you collect a resource, you don't have to watch Takkar doing it. Under Gameplay you may want to shut down Search Animations. It can be increased even more, but the screen may start to get a noticeable fish eye effect. Click on that and look at the Field of View. The last option at the bottom under Video is Advanced Settings.
They are not automatically set by the game.
Make sure the Display Resolution and Aspect Ratio are correctly matched to the computer.
